The 5 most popular streams for MBA in India are: Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Systems (IT) and HR. Some of the institutes, including some IIMs, do not offer any specialisations as they believe an MBA should be as general as possible. I am not sure what streams are available for you, but I assume you are considering only HR and Systems. Both HR and Systems are very specific streams - once you do HR stream, you can only apply for HR-specific jobs and the same with Systems. However, since your background is technical, you can look at the Systems option. You will be able to get jobs like Systems Manager, CTO, IT Manager, etc. in general companies and Project Manager kind of jobs in IT companies. The payscale will depend on your institute and the reputation of your course.
