Getting rid of stardust dragon and other synchro monsters fast?

so if i activate Compulsory Evacuation Device on Star Dust Dragon will he return to the extra deck? im a classic yugioh player and i really dislike synchro monsters especially stardust dragon. i have to admit that synchro monsters are good cards and can really help but i prefer classic dual monsters. i go to my local tournament as often as possible but alot of players converted to the new style of playing so it makes it a tad bit difficult dealing with synchro monsters. if i use cards that returned monsters to the players hand like Compulsory Evacuation Device would that return their synchro monsters to their extra deck since it cannot go to the hand? i did this alot on the yugioh games, it really slowed them down cuz they have to come up with more tuners again. so will returning cards back to the owners hand be the best and fastest solution to defeat synchro monsters.
